FC Barcelona Set to Play Historic Match at Renovated Camp Nou over the weekend
Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. Athletic Bilbao will visit the Bilbao team in domestic competition two and a half years since relocating to allow renovations to start.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
Attendance will be limited though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. When completed, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, increasing from the former 99,000. The club said recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout on the home pitch in early November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side in December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
